Synopsis
Jane Austen's Mafia! (1998) is a spoof comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Jim Abrahams — the man behind Airplane! and Hot Shots! The title is a joke in itself: this has nothing to do with Jane Austen, everything to do with dismantling The Godfather gag by gag.
Don Vincenzo Cortino has survived being shot 47 times. Now he needs a successor. His options: Anthony, a level-headed war veteran, or Joey, a volatile addict who is a liability in any room. The plot is the thinnest of scaffolding. Jay Mohr, Billy Burke, Christina Applegate, and Lloyd Bridges fill out the cast. Every scene exists to set up the next joke, and Abrahams keeps the pace close to frantic.
