Synopsis
The House of Tomorrow (2019) is an American coming-of-age dramedy you can watch online on iFILM. Sixteen-year-old Sebastian has spent his whole life inside a geodesic dome with his grandmother, a devotee of futurist thinker R. Buckminster Fuller, barely touching the outside world. Then an ordinary teen with a weak heart and a punk-rock cassette turns up at the door.
Jared introduces the shut-in to the Sex Pistols, and the two decide to start a band in time for an upcoming church show. What follows is first rehearsals, first crushes and first real blowups with the adults who think they know best. Asa Butterfield plays the wide-eyed Sebastian, Alex Wolff is the brash Jared, and Ellen Burstyn and Nick Offerman anchor the grown-up side of the story.
Director Peter Livolsi makes his feature debut from Peter Bognanni's novel — a warm, low-key film about how hard it is to build a future when someone has already mapped it out for you. It suits anyone who enjoys gentle indie movies about misfits growing up to a guitar soundtrack. Stream The House of Tomorrow (2019) online on iFILM.
