Synopsis

Nowhere (1997) is a cult indie provocation from director Gregg Araki that you can watch online on iFILM — the final entry in his Teen Apocalypse Trilogy. One surreal day in Los Angeles. A loose tangle of young, bohemian, chemically assisted lives drifting toward the wildest party of the year. Reality is optional.

James Duval plays Dark Smith, a mopey, romantically hopeless teenager whose bisexual girlfriend is interested in everything except commitment. The cast sprawls out from there — Christina Applegate, Heather Graham, Debi Mazar, Mena Suvari, Chiara Mastroianni and a parade of others cycle through drug trips, suicides, sexual tangles and at least one alien abduction. None of it connects in any conventional way. That's the point.

Araki shoots the film like a fever dream soaked in neon and bad decisions — plastic interiors in toxic colours, deaths that land like punchlines, the 1990s Los Angeles underground rendered as both satire and eulogy. Not a film for narrative patience, but for viewers who want their cinema disorienting and alive. Stream Nowhere (1997) online on iFILM.
