The Gunfighter

Jimmy Ringo has the fastest draw in the West and no way out of it. Every town he rides into produces someone who wants to test him or build a reputation by putting him down. Ringo is tired of all of it. He comes to a small town with a modest aim: see the woman he still loves, talk quietly, maybe find a way back to a life that does not end with a bullet. The town, and his past, have other plans.

King strips the Western of its adventure-story trappings and leaves the cost. There are almost no gunfights — the film runs on tension, waiting, and the weight of a reputation no one asked for.
