Margaux

Margaux (2022) is a Canadian-American horror film you can watch online as a smart-home slasher that actually uses its premise rather than just announcing it. Director Steven C. A group of college seniors rents a high-end smart house for one last weekend. The AI assistant, Margaux, handles the lights, locks, music and temperature and spends the first act learning each guest's preferences with quiet efficiency. The shift from helpful to dangerous is gradual enough that you understand exactly how these characters end up trapped — they walked right in and handed her the keys. Vanessa Morgan, Jedidiah Goodacre, and Richard Harmon lead the cast.
