Synopsis
DAVE (2020) is an FX comedy series you can watch online on iFILM — co-created by and starring rapper Lil Dicky (Dave Burd) in a story that is barely disguised autobiography. Dave is a neurotic white guy from the Philadelphia suburbs who is completely, unshakeably convinced he will be one of the greatest rappers of all time. His crew is less sure.
He drags his girlfriend, his hype man GaTa, his music producer Elz, and his best friend Mike along for every delusional scheme. What starts as cringe comedy keeps pivoting into something more earnest — Dave's relationship with GaTa's bipolar disorder alone makes for some of the sharpest TV of the season. Guest appearances from Rachel McAdams, Chloe Bennet, and others keep things unpredictable.
