Eddie

Eddie (1996) is a sports comedy you can watch online on iFILM — Whoopi Goldberg plays a New York limo driver and die-hard Knicks fan who lands an actual NBA head coaching job. Directed by Steve Rash, it co-stars Frank Langella as the team's showman new owner and Dennis Farina as the beleaguered GM.

The premise is pure wish fulfillment: the owner launches a fan-coach contest as a publicity stunt, Eddie wins, and nobody knows how to undo it. Real NBA players — John Starks, Mark Jackson, Rick Fox — fill the roster. At 100 minutes it does not overstay its welcome, and Goldberg commits completely to every scene.
