Joe and Chrissie Fairburn (Paul Bettany and Stephen Graham) grew up under a legendary father, a former chief now slipping into dementia (Brian Cox). Their prime suspect is a local outcast, but the evidence won't hold and they're forced to let him walk. So the brothers decide to beat a confession out of him themselves — and one night on a deserted shoreline turns the hunters into men with something of their own to bury. Director Nick Murphy reworks his own miniseries, with Mark Strong tightening the screws as a colleague who senses the lie.
