Synopsis
The Son of Kong (1933) is an adventure sequel you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Ernest B. Schoedsack. A month after the giant ape wrecked New York, showman Carl Denham is drowning in lawsuits and skips town.
Broke and hounded, Denham and Captain Englehorn drift the Far East hauling cargo until a con man hands them a map to treasure back on Skull Island. So Denham sails to the place that ruined him. What he finds isn't gold but a white, ten-foot pup — a clumsy, good-natured heir to the monster he once put in chains. Robert Armstrong returns as Denham, with Helen Mack along for the wreck.
RKO rushed this one into theaters barely nine months after the original Kong, and the seams show: it runs a slim 70 minutes and trades terror for something closer to a fairy tale about a gentle giant.
