Synopsis

Hey Arnold! The Movie (2002) is Nickelodeon's theatrical spin-off of the beloved animated series, available to watch online on iFILM. Directed by Tuck Tucker, the 76-minute film sends the football-headed kid on his biggest mission yet: saving his entire neighborhood from a wrecking ball.

A powerful developer named Scheck has unearthed an old land document that gives him legal authority to demolish Arnold's block and replace it with a giant mall. The city bureaucracy isn't helping, the clock is ticking, and Arnold has to track down a stolen piece of history that could void the whole deal. He's got Gerald at his side, and Helga — who has been nursing a secret crush on him for seasons — turns out to be a surprisingly useful co-conspirator. Paul Sorvino voices the villain, and Christopher Lloyd shows up as a covert ally with his own connection to the neighborhood's past.

For a children's film it moves at a decent clip — there are disguises, archive raids, and a car chase — and it earns its message about community without hammering it. Fans of the original series get a satisfying big-screen chapter; newcomers get a self-contained animated comedy that doesn't require homework. Stream Hey Arnold! The Movie (2002) online on iFILM.
