Assassination Classroom

Assassination Classroom (暗殺教室, 2015) is a Japanese sci-fi action-comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Eiichiro Hasumi, the film adapts Yusei Matsui's hit manga: a tentacled creature blows out most of the moon, calmly announces that Earth is next come March, and then — as its one demand — insists on becoming homeroom teacher to the worst-performing class at Kunugigaoka High School.

The government quietly bribes the students to kill their teacher before the deadline, offering ten billion yen. The catch is that the creature, nicknamed Koro-sensei, moves at Mach 20 and swats bullets like flies. He is also genuinely a terrific teacher — enthusiastic, fair and deeply invested in his students' futures, which makes the whole assignment confusing for everyone. Kazunari Ninomiya plays the role with committed energy that somehow translates through layers of prosthetic effects.
