The Invisible Man Returns

Now unseen, Geoffrey breaks out and hunts the real killer through the coal-mining town that framed him. The catch is in his veins — the drug rots the mind, and the longer he stays invisible, the closer he drifts to madness. The clock runs two ways at once.

Director Joe May keeps it half whodunit, half monster movie, and the effects work — empty clothes, a cigarette burning in mid-air — is clever for 1940.
