Overdose

"Overdose" (2022) is a French action thriller directed by Olivier Marchal — watch it online on iFILM. Toulouse police captain Sara Bellaiche, played by Sofia Essaïdi, is working a drug-trafficking murder case involving two dead teenagers. Richard Cross, a detective from the Paris Criminal Brigade played by Assad Bouab, shows up with overlapping evidence and no interest in sharing jurisdiction. They end up chasing the same killer across France and Spain anyway.

Marchal is a former cop who directed "36th Precinct" and "MR 73," and the procedural mechanics here feel lived-in rather than borrowed. The tension between Sara and Richard — two professionals who need each other and don't much like the arrangement — drives the film as much as the actual chase.
