Lommbock

Lommbock (2017) is a German stoner comedy you can watch online on iFILM, led by Moritz Bleibtreu. Fifteen years after the original Lammbock, two old weed buddies reconnect: Stefan has reinvented himself as a slick lawyer in Dubai, while Kai never left their small hometown.

Stefan's trip back for a friend's wedding pulls both men out of their grooves. Kai's life is a mess — his relationship is fraying, and his teenage stepson has run up a dangerous debt with local dealers, leaving two fortysomethings who once only knew how to roll a joint to sort it all out. Hanging over everything is the question fans of the first film keep asking: whatever became of their old friend Frank?

Director Christian Zübert returns to the characters of a cult German comedy years later and makes a movie less about getting high than about a grown-up phase that keeps getting postponed. Bleibtreu and Lucas Gregorowicz play a friendship that survived distance and very different lives. Best for anyone who loved the original Lammbock and easygoing German humor.
