Synopsis
Confessions (告白, 2010) is a Japanese psychological thriller by director Tetsuya Nakashima — watch it online on iFILM. Adapted from Kanae Minato's debut novel, the film opens on the last day of work for middle school teacher Yuko Moriguchi. She has something to tell her class. Not a goodbye speech — a confession that turns out to be the opening move of a calculated, patient revenge.
Two of her students killed her four-year-old daughter. Juvenile law shielded them. So Moriguchi chose her own method: deliberate, aimed at the one thing teenagers value most. Takako Matsui plays her with a stillness that makes every line feel like a trap.
Nakashima structures the film as a series of first-person accounts — the same events retold from different angles, each version adjusting what the last one established. Japanese crime thriller at its most unsparing. Stream Confessions (2010) online on iFILM.
