About

Synopsis

Incorrigible (L'Incorrigible, 1975) is a French crime comedy with Jean-Paul Belmondo that you can watch online on iFILM. Philippe de Broca directs. Victor Vautier walks out of prison after three months and gets straight back to business — flipping apartments he doesn't own, yachts, and even Mirage fighter jets to gullible buyers.

The con man swaps names and disguises faster than he can finish a sentence, and he can't finish one without lying anyway. There's an almost noble point to all the swindling: he wants to fund a sea wall that would shield Mont-Saint-Michel from the tide. Then Charlotte turns up — a young parole officer played by Geneviève Bujold. Victor learns her parents curate the museum in Senlis, and he hatches a brazen plan to lift an El Greco triptych and ransom it back to the state. The real question is what Charlotte does once she sees how she was played.

De Broca and Belmondo made several films together, and their chemistry runs at full tilt here: the star does his own stunts, the pace never sags, and the crook's charm outshines any lesson. Light seventies caper fare for anyone who loves a charismatic rogue and French comedy with nothing heavy underneath. Stream Incorrigible (1975) online on iFILM.
