The Pyramid

The Pyramid (2014) is a horror film you can watch online on iFILM. A team of American archaeologists cracks open a strange three-sided pyramid that satellites spotted buried beneath the Egyptian desert.

The dig is led by a father and daughter (Denis O'Hare and Ashley Hinshaw), trailed by a documentary crew and a camera drone. The moment they descend, the passages collapse behind them and the way out is gone. What follows is a maze of catacombs, ancient traps, and something alive that hunts in the dark. The deeper they go, the worse the odds that everyone climbs back out.

This is the directing debut of Gregory Levasseur, longtime co-writer for Alexandre Aja on High Tension and Mirrors. It mixes found-footage and standard camera work, leaning hard on the claustrophobia of narrow tunnels. No grand ambitions here, but as a lean cursed-tomb creature feature it does the job.
