Synopsis

The 1980s. A disciplined gang of con men has been working the same play across India: dress as CBI or Income Tax officers, show up at the homes of wealthy businessmen and politicians, and walk out with cash that was never going to be declared to anyone. The victims have no recourse — the money isn't supposed to exist. Ajay Singh (Akshay Kumar) runs the operation with quiet precision. Detective Waseem Khan (Manoj Bajpayee) starts connecting the raids.
Pandey drew from a real 1987 Bombay heist — the Opera House job. The film earns its thriller label not through chases but through procedure: how the scam is assembled, rehearsed and executed, and what unravels when one cop on the outside has enough patience to wait.
