Synopsis
Crayon Shin-chan: Intense Battle! Robo Dad Strikes Back (2014) is a Japanese animated feature you can watch online on iFILM. The annual Shin-chan theatrical series has been running since 1993, and each film drops the Nohara family into something new and ridiculous — this one is no exception.
A shadowy group with a plan to "toughen up" pushover Japanese dads has turned Shin-chan's father Hiroshi into a robot. He comes home all steel and circuitry, and five-year-old Shin-chan is not having it. What follows is a slapstick chase that somehow turns genuinely moving by the last act — the Shin-chan films have a habit of smuggling real emotion about parenthood into their mayhem.
