Flodder

Flodder (1986) is the Dutch comedy you can watch online on iFILM, in which a city council drops the country's most hopeless family into a posh gated suburb as a social experiment. The neighbors never recover.

Ma Flodder raises five kids — each by a different father, ranging from a feral ten-year-old to grown layabouts — plus a wheelchair-bound grandpa obsessed with railway gear: signal lamps, a conductor's cap, toy carriages. The plan was to civilize them. Instead the brawls, scams and blaring music turn a manicured street into a war zone within days. Nelly Frijda anchors the mayhem as the chain-smoking matriarch, with Huub Stapel along for the ride.

Director Dick Maas turned this clash of classes into one of the biggest Dutch box-office hits of its era, spawning sequels and a long-running TV series.
