The Legend of El Cid (El Cid, 2020) is a Spanish historical drama series you can watch online on iFILM, produced for Amazon Prime Video. Set in medieval Castile, it follows Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar — the young nobleman who will one day become Spain's greatest war hero — as he serves the prince Sancho in his bid to claim the crown of Castile and León.

Jaime Lorente, widely known from Money Heist, plays Rodrigo as a soldier who fights clean in a world that does not. When Sancho moves against his brother Alfonso for control of the throne, Rodrigo is the sword he trusts most. That loyalty comes at a price: court intrigue operates on different rules than open combat, and the path from loyal knight to legend runs through exile, blood and betrayal.

The series is shot on a proper scale — large battle sequences, detailed period production design and a political web that keeps the drama moving between fights.
