Synopsis
6/45 (2022) is a South Korean comedy you can watch online on iFILM, built around the worst possible place to lose a winning lottery ticket: the border between two Koreas. A stub worth 5.7 billion won catches the wind, sails across the demilitarized zone, and lands at a North Korean guard post.
What follows is small-scale diplomacy at its most ridiculous. A Southern soldier wants his lucky slip back. A Northern soldier already considers it his. With a fortune on the table, sworn enemies are suddenly forced to negotiate a split — and to break just about every rule both armies have. There is no grand politics here, only greed, panic, and the unlikely camaraderie of men who are supposed to shoot each other on sight. Director Park Gyu-tae keeps the humor rooted in the absurd situation rather than cheap army gags.
Ko Kyoung-pyo anchors the farce with his gift for playing a flustered everyman in over his head. It is a breezy, good-natured night-in pick for anyone who enjoyed Korean comedies like Welcome to Dongmakgol. Stream 6/45 (2022) online on iFILM.
