Synopsis
A daughter left behind at eight comes back more than thirty years later — Sunday's Illness (La enfermedad del domingo, 2018) is a Spanish drama you can watch online on iFILM. Susi Sánchez plays Annabel guarded and near-glacial, while Bárbara Lennie gives the daughter a stubborn, hard-earned tenderness. Sánchez took the Goya for Best Actress for the part.
Salazar films it slowly, in long takes, trusting silences and damp autumn light more than dialogue. The ending explains the strange request and the title, yet offers no comfort.
