About
Synopsis
Dementia (1955) is a silent American horror-noir you can watch online on iFILM. Director John Parker shot the entire 56-minute film without a single line of dialogue — the tagline said it plainly: "Not ONE WORD is spoken on the screen."
Adrienne Barrett plays a young woman whose mind is coming apart. Cheap hotel rooms, empty night streets, visions bleeding into memory — Parker shoots Los Angeles like a city seen through fever, drawing on German expressionist techniques long after silent film had supposedly died out. A minor historical footnote: early screen appearances by Ed McMahon and Aaron Spelling, both well before their famous careers took off. Stream Dementia on iFILM.
