Synopsis
ReMastered: The Two Killings of Sam Cooke (2019) is a Netflix documentary investigation you can watch online on iFILM. Director Kelly Duane de la Vega examines December 1964 — and the official story that still doesn't add up.
Sam Cooke was 33 when he was shot dead at a Los Angeles motel. The owner claimed self-defense. Police wrapped it up fast. But Cooke had built SAR Records from scratch, written "A Change Is Gonna Come," and was one of the most organised voices in the civil rights movement — the kind of man who attracted powerful enemies. Jim Brown, Quincy Jones, Smokey Robinson, and Dionne Warwick speak on camera. The "second killing" in the title refers to what happened to his reputation after the shots were fired.
Stream ReMastered: The Two Killings of Sam Cooke on iFILM — a documentary that treats a legend's unsolved death as exactly what it is: still unsolved.
