Synopsis
Hercules (1983) is an Italian-American fantasy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Luigi Cozzi. Bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno — TV's Incredible Hulk — flexes his way through the role of the half-divine strongman.
The gods watch humanity from an Olympus parked on the Moon and decide to put mortals to the test. Down below, baby Hercules is born just as the scheming Minos seizes the throne, betting on science to rule the world. Zeus floats the infant downriver to safety, and a humble couple raises him. Grown up, the strongman falls for Princess Cassiopeia; when she is abducted, he battles past the sorceress Circe toward sunken Atlantis. Sibyl Danning co-stars as a treacherous enchantress.
Cozzi made this riding the Star Wars and Conan craze, so Greek myth collides with lasers and outer space in gloriously cheap fashion. It's prime 1980s trash-fantasy — worth a look for the goofy effects and Ferrigno's sheer bulk, not for any loyalty to the source mythology. Stream Hercules online on iFILM.
