Synopsis

Paco is the teenage son of a Civil Guard commander in the Basque Country. His closest friend comes from a Basque separatist household. On every political map, their families stand at opposite ends. On heroin, they're the same. De la Iglesia made the film at the start of Spain's democratic transition — a period when a youth heroin epidemic was gutting a generation almost unacknowledged.
