Bicycle courier John Fontanelli suddenly finds himself the heir of a trillion-dollar fortune. While the Vacchi family prepares him for what is to come, he is faced with a deadly trap set by ominous opponents.

John barely manages to thwart a deadly attack. Although he fears for his life, he accepts the inheritance, encouraged by Franca. When the press gets wind of this, the immense pressure causes John to seek refuge in his newly attained wealth.

John and Franca launch Fontanelli Enterprises. Under the direction of Malcolm McCaine, the company buys up shares of global corporations in order to influence their exchange rates. But their success irritates a secret financial elite.

John holds billionaire Morten Hellstroem responsible for the attack on Lino. Franca can't stop him from starting a personal vendetta. He decides to buy up Hellstroem's company in order to bring him down.

While Franca is set on positively influencing the exchange rates of global corporations through strategic investments, John tries to uncover the secrets of the financial elite. He goes to Algeria in order to expose the identity of its mastermind.

The entire financial market is in danger of collapsing, leading to world-wide turmoil. John now understands what the prophecy means - it is up to him to prevent this financial meltdown and save the world from certain doom.
