Synopsis
One-Way to Tomorrow (Yarına Tek Bilet, 2020) is a Turkish romantic drama with a comic streak you can watch online on iFILM in a single sitting. Two strangers board an overnight train from Ankara to Izmir and wind up sharing the same compartment. It opens on pure friction — neither wants the other there.
Leyla is rushing to a wedding. Ali has his own reasons for heading to the same event. As the rails roll on, it becomes clear their pasts are tangled tighter than either let on, and the things left unsaid between them finally start pushing to the surface. Metin Akdülger and Dilan Çiçek Deniz carry the two-hander, turning cramped-cabin bickering into an honest reckoning with old wounds.
Director Ozan Açıktan keeps the pair boxed inside the train car for nearly the whole runtime, and the confinement suits the material — this is a talky film about second chances.
