Dealer (Season 1)

"Dealer" (Caïd, 2021) is a French found-footage crime series you can watch online on iFILM. Music video director Frank and his cameraman head to a rough housing estate in the south of France to shoot a clip for an up-and-coming rapper, Tony. Tony — played by Abdramane Diakité — runs a drug operation. By the time that becomes obvious, the camera is already rolling.

When rival armed factions start fighting over the neighbourhood, the film crew can't exactly call cut. Mohamed Boudouh and Sébastien Houbani round out the main cast. The handheld footage works not as an aesthetic device but as logic: of course someone in that situation would keep filming.
