Synopsis
Do Unto Others (ロストケア, 2023) is a Japanese crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. Two bodies are found early one morning: an elderly resident and a worker from a home-visit nursing agency. Investigators pull the agency's records and find something worse — 42 clients have died under its care.
The prime suspect is Shiba, a caretaker colleagues unanimously describe as warm and devoted. Masami Nagasawa plays the prosecutor who builds the case against him. Director Tetsu Maeda is less interested in the crime than in what it exposes: Japan's eldercare system stretched past its capacity, and a man who may have drawn his own conclusion about what mercy looks like.
