PG-13Synopsis
C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America (2005) is an American satirical mockumentary you can watch online on iFILM. Director Kevin Willmott takes the premise from the tagline — "What if the South had won the War?" — and builds a full alternate history out of it. Presented as a British documentary broadcast, the film runs through newsreels, talking-head interviews, and commercial breaks for Confederate-branded products in a world where slavery never ended and the Confederacy eventually absorbed the whole continent.
The format is the point. Willmott makes the satire funny — deliberately so — until several of his invented laws and products turn out to have real-world antecedents, and the joke turns uncomfortable. One of the rare cases where a comedy does more damage to a historical atrocity than a drama would. Stream C.S.A. (2005) online on iFILM.
