Synopsis
Long Dates (2023) is Georgy Lyalin's drama, and you can watch it online on iFILM. The lead is Oleg Garkusha, frontman of the rock band Auktyon: his Father Alexander is an elderly, eccentric, kindhearted priest whose quiet routine collapses after a fire breaks out in the town church.
The blame falls on Varya (Vasilisa Perelygina), a young deaf-mute woman who can neither explain herself nor fight back. The priest recognizes her as an orphan he once baptized as an infant, and he refuses to walk away. He sets about building for her the kind of life she never had — and the title points to the long prison visits that hold their bond together.
It's a hushed film about guilt, mercy and the people a system wrote off long ago. Garkusha's casting is the main reason to watch: a rock musician in a cassock, playing it surprisingly restrained. The 18+ rating earns itself — there's no sugar here. Stream Long Dates (2023) online on iFILM.
