Synopsis
Once Upon a Time in East (Vojna policajtov, 2024) is a Slovak crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. It drops you into eastern Slovakia in the early 1990s, when the Warsaw Pact had collapsed and the region tipped into open lawlessness.
Gangs, politicians and businessmen carve up power, and the police end up as the thin thread holding everything short of total chaos. Captain Miki Miko and his young partner Igor Molnar close in on a hardened criminal shielded by officials — and the bust costs Igor his life. From there Miko is on his own, working the edge of the law in a country that has stopped respecting it. Alexander Bárta plays a man still clinging to rules nobody else obeys.
