Synopsis
Mallet (Колотушка, 2023) is a Russian tragicomedy about bare-knuckle fighting that you can watch online on iFILM. Sanya has built a settled life: a wife, a paid-off mortgage, a growing son. His older brother Pasha never grew out of their rowdy youth — he brawls, works a bar door and dreams of stepping into no-rules fights. Their family motto stays the same: life is a fight.
One drunken reunion knocks Sanya off track for good. A car crash, a row of wrecked vehicles at a dealership, a crushing debt — and Pasha shows up with a broken arm. With no other way to pay, the younger brother climbs into the ring in his place: cuts, blood, side bets. Andrei Pynzaru and Yuri Nasonov play siblings who love each other exactly as fiercely as they drive each other insane.
The cast also includes Lukerya Ilyashenko, Sergei Stepin and Mikhail Evlanov. What makes the show stick is that the fights are really an excuse to talk about small-town life, wounded male pride and the price one pays for a reckless brother.
