Synopsis
The Wind in the Willows (1996) is a British family comedy directed by Terry Jones — watch it online on iFILM. The cast alone makes it worth pressing play: John Cleese, Stephen Fry, Michael Palin, Eric Idle and Steve Coogan, all loose in Kenneth Grahame's countryside.
The central disaster is Mr. Toad. Reckless with cars, loud about everything, he ends up in jail. While he's locked up, a gang of weasels moves into Toad Hall and signs a deal to turn the meadow into a dog food factory. His friends — Mole, Rat and Badger — have to spring him from prison before there's no home left to save.
Terry Jones keeps the Pythonesque energy without letting it swamp the story. It is madder and scruffier than most book adaptations, which is exactly the point. Watch The Wind in the Willows (1996) online on iFILM.
