Synopsis
Drive (1997) is Steve Wang's sci-fi action romp, worth a watch online on iFILM for its pure, CGI-free hand-to-hand mayhem. In a near-future San Francisco, Toby Wong escapes a Chinese corporation with an experimental bio-implant fused into his chest, hoping to sell the tech in the West.
Hired killers want him dead, so Toby drags an unwilling stranger into the chaos — a washed-up drunk named Malik. Hostage first, partner later, Malik tears toward Los Angeles alongside Toby while bullets and fists fly behind them. Mark Dacascos is at his athletic peak here: real stunts, acrobatic kicks, and fights choreographed with Hong Kong precision. A young Brittany Murphy turns up in an early bit part.
The movie flopped on release, then quietly became a cult favorite among martial-arts fans for its inventive choreography and the easy chemistry between its two leads. If you love old-school action where flesh-and-blood performers do the work instead of pixels, this one delivers. Stream Drive (1997) online on iFILM.
