Synopsis
Perfect Sisters (2014) is a Canadian crime drama based on a real case — watch it online on iFILM. Abigail Breslin and Georgie Henley play two teenage sisters grinding through life with an alcoholic mother and a revolving door of her abusive boyfriends. At some point, they stop waiting for things to change.
The sisters plan to kill their mother. Director Stanley M. Brooks does not frame them as monsters or as helpless victims — he simply follows the logic of two teenagers who have run out of other ideas. Mira Sorvino plays the mother in a way that manages to be maddening and pitiable at the same time. There is no tidy moral here.
