The Revenant

The Revenant (2015) is a survival western directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu — watch it online on iFILM in full HD. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Hugh Glass, a frontier scout mauled by a grizzly bear and left for dead by the men he trusted somewhere in the frozen wilderness of the 1820s American West.

His companion Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy) steals what little Glass has left and vanishes. What follows is not a chase — it is a slow crawl across ice and mud, through hostile territory, fuelled entirely by the will to reach the man who took everything. Will Poulter plays a young soldier caught between loyalty and survival. Cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki shot every frame in natural light only, no artificial lighting rigs, just winter sky and firelight.

Three Academy Awards came out of this production: DiCaprio's first Oscar for Best Actor, Iñárritu's second consecutive Best Director win, and Lubezki's third straight Best Cinematography trophy.
