Synopsis

Violet Sanford (Piper Perabo) packs a notebook full of songs and moves from small-town New Jersey to New York City with one goal: get her music heard. The city has other plans first.
To cover rent she lands a job at the infamous Coyote Ugly bar, where owner Lil (Maria Bello) runs the floor with zero tolerance for shyness. The bartenders dance on the counter, own the room, and Violet has to shed her stage fright one rowdy shift at a time. John Goodman plays her warm, worried father back home; country star LeAnn Rimes appears as herself and contributes several tracks to the soundtrack.
