Synopsis

Jeweller Isaac Amin is hauled out of his office, his foreign trade rebranded as espionage. Held in a cell, squeezed for a confession and for cash, he counts the days alone, while his wife Farnaz keeps watch over an emptying home where even loyal servants begin to look at her differently. As the father waits behind bars, the family scrambles for a way out of a country that is no longer theirs.
Wayne Blair adapts Dalia Sofer's debut novel, drawn in part from her own family's memory. Adrien Brody and Salma Hayek play the couple stretched to breaking point, with Shohreh Aghdashloo alongside them.
