Synopsis

Chief of War (2025), Season 1 is the Apple TV+ historical drama you can watch online on iFILM — nine episodes set across an eighteenth-century Hawaiʻi split between four rival kingdoms.

It opens with Kaʻiana, a Maui warrior called home and pressed to fight under King Kahekili. He chooses otherwise. The season then sends him running: a flight from Oʻahu, a voyage to a foreign shore, and a return carrying a warning that few of the chiefs want to hear. Around him Kamehameha is rising, with Kaʻahumanu claiming her place at his side, while the arrival of outsiders off European ships fractures every council that still hopes for peace. By the closing stretch a personal loss and Keōua's call to war pull the islands toward a single decisive clash.

Created by Jason Momoa and Thomas Paʻa Sibbett and performed largely in the Hawaiian language, season 1 tells this conquest from the inside rather than the deck of a passing ship. Stream Chief of War Season 1 online on iFILM.
