Synopsis

He survives, returns to the ward, and clashes with Sneed over who deserves the knife. His romance with Lady Belle stays buried — she is his student now, and far more than that. Inspector Boxer keeps sniffing at the bodies, Fagin schemes to lift something priceless, and cholera creeps through the poor quarter. To stop it, Jack and Belle must trace the outbreak themselves while Lady Jane edges toward their secret.
