Synopsis
Mike & Molly (2010), Season 1 — a CBS sitcom you can watch online on iFILM, 24 episodes that begin when a Chicago beat cop and a fourth-grade teacher meet at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting and fall for each other.
The whole season is about two shy grown-ups working up the nerve to actually become a couple. First date, first kiss, first night, first Christmas, the first Valentine's Day — the episodes are practically named after the milestones. Nobody's a villain here. The trouble comes from family: Molly's mom and her on-again boyfriend, her glamorous sister Victoria, and Mike's overbearing mother Peggy, who keeps inserting herself into the romance. Mike's partner Carl hands out terrible advice, and the diner regulars are fed by Samuel, to whom dieting is a foreign idea.
This is a Chuck Lorre show, from the same multi-cam stable as The Big Bang Theory, so the laughs are warm rather than mean — the characters mostly tease themselves. If you want an easy, good-natured comedy for a weeknight, stream Mike & Molly Season 1 online on iFILM.
