Synopsis
Key & Peele (2012), Season 1 is the Comedy Central sketch show you can watch online on iFILM — eight episodes that launch the partnership of Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, two MADtv alumni striking out on their own.
The format lands right away. Each episode strings together pre-taped sketches that the duo introduce to a live studio crowd. This is where Luther arrives — Obama's anger translator, barking out loud what the President can only think. From there the season runs a rap battle in the Oval Office, two con men passing through Nazi Germany, a flash mob that goes sideways, and a deadpan argument over which of the two is blacker. Race, politics and male friendship get picked apart through absurdity instead of a sermon.
The first run is still finding its rhythm, yet you can already see why these two would later sweep the Emmys and why Peele would walk off to direct horror. Stream Key & Peele Season 1 online on iFILM.
