SAND LAND: THE SERIES (2024) is an anime adaptation of Akira Toriyama's manga — watch online on iFILM. In a far future scorched by war, Earth has dried to a barren wasteland and a greedy king hoards the water supply while his people go thirsty. Sheriff Rao has had enough, and he goes looking for the Legendary Spring — a source no one has found in living memory.

He ends up with Beelzebub, the demon prince, and his companion Thief for the road. The three push through a desert crawling with bandits and royal soldiers, and Toriyama's touch is clear throughout: dry humor, mismatched personalities, action that never tips into grimness. Mutsumi Tamura voices Beelzebub as a demon who turns out to be considerably better company than humans expect.
