Almost everything here is new — a new heroine, a new era, a different fleet. Nono attaches herself as a self-appointed "little sister" to a haughty elite pilot of the Topless, whose Buster Machines hold the line against the space monsters. She's brushed off at first. Then comes a wrecked machine, a stretch of real despair, and a legendary robot dragged back from the past. The stakes climb fast: after the Titan incident the Topless themselves become the problem, and humanity's last hope rests on the least likely candidate in the solar system. The final plan asks the Earth itself as the price.
