Synopsis

Seventeenth-century Paris runs on the blade. A young Gascon named d'Artagnan rides into the city chasing the man who killed his father, and the hunt throws him in with Athos, Porthos and Aramis, King Louis XIII's personal guard. Across the run they break up a prison riot, escort men who'd sooner see them dead, pull abducted children out of harm and stand between Queen Anne and the people who want her gone. Behind all of it, Peter Capaldi's Cardinal works the strings, and Milady drifts in carrying a past knotted tight to Athos.
