Synopsis
Like Minds (2006) is Gregory J. Read's psychological thriller, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Forensic psychologist Sally Rowe (Toni Collette) is handed the case of seventeen-year-old Alex, a boy accused of killing his classmate Nigel.
The deeper Sally digs, the harder it gets to tell who the victim really is. Alex (Eddie Redmayne) confesses one moment and denies everything the next, while his powerful father leans hard on the investigation. The true riddle is the bond between Alex and the dead Nigel (Tom Sturridge), who seems to keep his friend on an invisible leash from beyond the grave. The interview turns into a battle of wits, the truth peeling back one layer at a time, each turn darker than the last.
This is one of Redmayne's early roles, long before his Oscar, and the jittery intensity is already there. The Australian-British film sits between detective story and quiet horror, no jump scares, just a creeping chill. Best for viewers who like slow psychological thrillers with a hidden second floor.
