Synopsis
The Cell 2 (2009) is a horror-thriller with a sci-fi streak that you can watch online on iFILM. A killer known as the Cusp drags his victims to the edge of death, revives them, then does it again and again — until they beg him to let them go.
Maya lived through it. She was the Cusp's very first victim, spent a year in a coma, and woke with the ability to slip inside other minds. Now she works as a psychic investigator, tracking killers through their own thoughts. When the Cusp resurfaces, Maya is nearly out of time: to save his latest captive she has to enter a murderer's mind with no protection at all. Tessie Santiago leads as Maya, with Frank Whaley in a key supporting role.
This is a standalone follow-up to the Jennifer Lopez original, made on a smaller scale in straight-to-video fashion. Director Tim Iacofano leans on the killer's brutal gimmick rather than the first film's lavish dreamscapes. It's one for genre-horror completists who don't expect a big budget.
